Rüdiger Geist

Hi, I’m Rüdiger Geist, the rge.harlekin from Lake Zurich.

As a political scientist I soon lost my faith in rationality and homo economicus. So I looked for something more tangible and logical: Information Technology. Fixed rules, immediate feedback from the compiler and not much to do with people. You guessed it: it turned out a bit differently. I was swiftly appointed project lead, which sounded quite impressive too; I did not really know what it was exactly. So after about three decades in and around projects I dare to claim I now know what is about, and have been communicating my knowledge through my own company to the rest of the world and even the EU since 2005. There are so many wonderful truisms that describe the various facets of project management and I love using them. But the best is my own, of course: “The whole purpose of PM is ‘no surprises’”.
